Board’s Honey Farm in Loring-Restoule

In the heart of Loring-Restoule in Explorers’ Edge, there is a bit of a buzz during the summer months around a sweet spot visitors have come to love. Board’s Honey Farm located in Restoule, has been around since 1974, educating the public about the need for honeybees and providing tours of the grounds in which the bees reside. Board’s Honey Farm has expanded to sell tasty, healthy, and useful products for the public. With 300 colonies of honeybees on the property, Board’s Honey Farm offers a unique experience for visitors.

Board’s Honey Farm uses their colonies of bees to extract, prepare, and make creations using contents of the hive such as the honey, beeswax, pollen, propolis, or royal jelly. These products include flavoured and herbal honeys, natural cosmetics, savoury & sweet condiments, and apitherapy products (which stem from the ancient concept of using honey to heal the body). The farm also offers gifts and books to enhance your experience at the farm and the always classic pure honey.

For the months of July and August, Board’s Honey Farm offers a guided tour, when visitors can learn about the benefits of honey bees to our gardens, markets, and health. Every Tuesday, the farm puts on a Tots Tour at 10:30am focusing on entertaining children under 6 years old with puppets and more.  On Thursdays at 1:30pm, the staff at the farm offer a more in-depth and hands-on tour, featuring candle making and honey comb tasting. You can learn about the importance of honeybees on one of these tours for $5.00 per person.
