Muskoka’s Spin The Lakes Cycle Tour

The 12th annual one-day cycling tour with multiple distances is Ontario’s favourite spring ride.

Spin the Lakes on Saturday, May 27, 2017

Established by Bike Muskoka founder Jim Brendish in 2006, the Spin the Lakes Cycle Tour has grown from its original roster of 180 participants to over 650 attending the 2016 edition. A non-competitive event, the tour offers riders the chance to stretch their legs after a long Canadian winter, and to cruise some of the most spectacular scenery in the province.

Participants can select from multiple routes depending on how long you want to ride, including 20km 58km96/105km  and 165km distances. All routes are on-road and the event is fully supported with volunteers, vehicles, food and water stations.

“The feedback we get from participants is that they like the event because it’s well supported,” says Brendish. “They also like the routes and, I’m told, it’s well organized for them.”

Riders loop around Muskoka’s famous lakes and several small towns through a terrain of moderate, rolling hills. A post-ride brunch is provided and showers and pool facilities are available for participants at Hidden Valley Resort after the ride. (Check out the route map to find the best fit for you.)

  • Registration is between $60-$70, depending on the distance and date of registration. Start times also vary by distance, starting at 8:00am for the longer routes, and 10:30 for the shorter ones. Last minute registration is available for $80 the day before the race and on race day.
