Motorcycle Touring in the Great Canadian Wilderness – The Small Loop

By Kate
March 3, 2015

Our Small Loop is ideal for a weekend trip, at just over 650 kms (400 miles) from its starting point. It can be done in a day, but with all of the spectacular scenic back roads, we recommend staying at least one night. If you’re travelling from the USA, or from a great distance, definitely make a weekend out of it! The Small loop also gives you a taste of each of the sub-regions within the Great Canadian Wilderness, without tackling the major mileage that Algonquin Park adds. It also focuses on packing more of the top roads into the loop.

We’ve included downloadable maps below – if you want to pre-book your hotels, which is recommended throughout much of the riding season, check out our accommodations.

Winding Road in Explorers Edge

Both routes are built with an eye towards the best on-road experience possible. We’ve ruled out anything straight and flat, and made sure to keep you entertained. Scenery, road quality, and entertainment value take the front seat here.

This GPX file will work with Garmin and TomTom GPS units: The Small Loop
