Family Fishing Weekend: License-Free Fun

Ontario’s License-Free Fishing Days event is set to run again on February 16-18, 2019 – just in time for the Family Day Weekend.

During this special time, families can head to the Explorers’ Edge region of Ontario and try their hands at ice fishing, without having to worry about having their official license.

Looking for a place to fish? Local bait shops can give you some ideas, and plenty of accommodations in the region have bait and tackle too.

Please note: Ontario fishing regulations, fees, and limits continue to apply during the Family Fishing Days. Always remember to CHECK THE ICE before you head out to ensure its safe.
