New KIDZONE Adds to Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre Fun
Building upon the incredible popularity of its themed cruises for children and families (such as the animal-filled Noah’s Ark cruises, yarrrrrr Pirate Ship cruises and “Frozen” cruises), the Muskoka Steamships have launched a new fun and innovative KIDZONE at the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre in Gravenhurst, Ontario, which will occupy the mezzanine of this unique museum.
With consultation from Science North, the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre’s interactive KIDZONE will feature a permanent exhibit of creative programs and activities, including a float plane simulator, replica steamship creation, an illuminated LightBrite wall, building challenges using Keva planks and LEGO blocks, and ‘Dig It’ sand and water play tables. Visitors can also check out multiple “Make-It” stations, including knot tying and captain or pirate dress up.
In addition to the permanent exhibit, each summer a new temporary exhibit will be showcased. From July 15 to August 15, 2015, visitors to the KIDZONE can learn all about the tropical rainforest (and meet a live(!) python, crocodile, tarantula, scorpion or lizard) at the “Under The Canopy: Animals of the Rainforest” exhibit.
The whole family will enjoy a visit to the new KIDZONE at the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre in Gravenhurst, and don’t miss the fun of a Noah’s Ark, Pirate or “Frozen” cruise too, happening all summer long.
