September 27 – Nursery Nights – David Francey

Sandhill Nursery is thrilled to welcome back Nursery Nights for another magical season! In partnership with our friends at Huntsville Festival of the Arts, we’ve curated an unforgettable lineup featuring incredible musical talent, plus—new this year—nights of comedy and improv. These intimate greenhouse performances are always a Fall Festival favourite, creating memories you’ll cherish. We can’t wait to see you at the garden centre!

David Francey is a Scottish-born, Canadian-raised carpenter-turned-songwriter known as one of Canada’s most revered folk voices. A former rail yard and bush worker, he began writing poetic songs on the job and only started performing in his 40s with encouragement from his wife, artist Beth Girdler. His 1999 debut Torn Screen Door became a Canadian hit, launching a career that includes 13 albums, four JUNO Awards, and multiple international songwriting prizes. Francey’s songs capture the grit, beauty, and humanity of working-class life, told with honesty, humour, and heart. He now lives in Ontario’s Lanark Highlands with his family.
