September 14 – Muskoka River X by Algonquin Outfitters
For 2024, we challenge teams along a 95km/17 portage course that starts in Whitney, east of Algonquin Park, and ends in Oxtongue to the west. This is home of the Canoe Tripper, and to celebrate them we offer the Canoe Tripper Class. Tripper Teams will paddle the quintessential canoe: Defined by its symmetrical hull with curved bow and stern, this elegant watercraft can be paddled tandem or solo in almost any condition. It is the mainstay of the Tripper. Powering the Tripper is the classic paddle; wooden with a straight shaft and blade. The Canoe Tripper Class will have several categories, all reflecting Tripper Culture. More of a Marathoner and less of a Tripper? River X has you represented with traditional categories such as C2 Stock, C1 Stock, K1 and SUP. Hold the date and join us in 2024 for our 11th season of the Algonquin Outfitters Muskoka River X as we celebrate the Canoe Tripper. Details and registration will be posted later in this fall. Have a great rest of the paddling season.
