European Inspired; Windmill continues its long standing tradition of creating authentic, tasty baked goods. Windmill Bakery was started in 1976 by Ton Struyk, a Dutch immigrant. It was carried on by Tjeerd Wouda, a Friesen immigrant, into 2015. Now Dan and Grace Willows, who is also from Europe, have taken on the challenge of keeping this important community service alive and thriving! Though not from a baking background, Dan and Grace have found great joy in learning new things and experimenting with creating great products to supplement the already strong offerings. Running a bakery has allowed them to pursue the dream of training and equipping local young people in the valuable skill of baking. Creating baked products reflect artisanal skill that are high in nutritional value that reflect the quality ingredients used in their making. Outstanding breakfast and lunch options are also available and a small menu caters to gluten-free or other dietary sensitivities.
