Explorers’ Edge ‘Add A Dash of Colour Contest’ Rules
The Add A Dash of Colour Contest is administered by Explorers’ Edge, an incorporated not-for-profit in Ontario, operating in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, hereafter to be referred to as “Contest Administrators.”
The contest will open on September 23, 2024 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and will be active until October 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
HOW TO ENTER
All eligible contestants can enter by going to the URL www.addadashofcolour.com (‘Add A Dash of Colour dot com’) between September 23, 2024 and October 31, 2024 and entering their contact information or use the alternative method of entry below.
No purchase is necessary.
As an alternative method of entry, eligible contestants may also enter by mailing a request to participate that includes an email address for winner notification to the following address:

Incomplete entries may be disqualified, and the Contest Administrators are not responsible for any communication failures, mechanical failure, or circumstances affecting the receipt of entry.
Entrants agree that should they submit any additional photos upon entry, Explorers’ Edge may publish/promote the image(s) on the www.GreatCanadianWilderness.com website and on the company’s social media accounts for Instagram and Facebook (handle: @greatcanadianwildernes), as well as the corporate LinkedIn page (handle: Explorers’ Edge); entrants further agree to photo release of such submissions for promotional purposes and to no compensation being provided for photo use/promotion by Explorers’ Edge. Photo submission is not necessary to be entered to win.
ELIGIBLE CONTESTANTS
The contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their respective province or territory of residence at the time of entry, excluding those who live in Quebec. Employees or contractors of the Contest Administrators and immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with any such employees or contractors, are not eligible to enter.
SELECTION OF WEEKLY WINNER
Beginning on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and continuing every week for 5 weeks total, one random prize winner will be selected from all active entrants in the contest and will be awarded one prize which entitles the winner to a gift certificate for dining in the region known by its consumer-facing name The Great Canadian Wilderness Just North of Toronto (which included Algonquin Park, the Almaguin Highlands, Loring-Restoule, west Parry Sound district, and South Algonquin). This one prize will have the approximate retail value of $200.00 CDN. The odds of winning will depend on the final number of active entrants.
SELECTION OF GRAND PRIZE WINNER
On November 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time one random prize winner will be selected from all active entrants at the completion of the contest and will be awarded one grand prize which entitles the winner to a 2-night stay in a standard room for two adults at Sherwood Inn in Muskoka, Ontario, as well as breakfast daily and a three-course dinner daily for both adults. The Grand Prize package will be available for booking based on availability and during mid-week only in the summer season and weekends in winter. Prize must be redeemed by December 31, 2025. This one prize will have the approximate retail value of $1000 CDN. The odds of winning will depend on the final number of active entrants.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The winners will be notified via the same email they provided when they registered and must respond within two business days with a completed release and the answer to a mathematical skill-testing question delivered via e-mail. If either the winners do not respond within two business days, do not sign the applicable release, or do not answer the skill-testing question correctly, that party will be disqualified and a new winner will be selected by the same process for that particular prize.
Following confirmation of each winner, they will be contacted by the Explorers’ Edge administrative manager to confirm delivery method of the prize (e.g. by email or mail).
The winners will be published/promoted on www.GreatCanadianWilderness.com , on www.ExplorersEdge.ca , on the Instagram and Facebook accounts: @greatcanadianwildernes, in the Explorers’ Edge e-newsletter, and on LinkedIn staff and corporate pages, and agree to photo release of photos entered. By entering the contest, participants agree to the use of their name, likeness, and submitted materials for promotional purposes without additional compensation. The Contest Administrators are not responsible for any mechanical or communication failures that result in the winner not being notified within the time frames as outlined in these rules.
PRIZE AVAILABILITY
Except as specified otherwise herein, the prize is not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded. Winner is responsible for all costs and expenses not specifically listed as included in the prize including, without limitation, all necessary travel to and from the restaurants and hotel. No prize substitution is allowed except at the sole discretion of the Contest Administrators.
USE OF ENTRANT INFORMATION
All information collected in the contest registration process will be the property of Contest Administrators and may be used in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act of Canada.
The Contest Administrators and their sponsors reserve the right to publish the winner’s first name and last initial and province or territory of residence.
STATEMENT OF LIABILITY
The contest as outlined in these rules shall be governed by the appropriate laws of the province or territories. All entrants release all Content Administrator parent companies, subsidiaries, vendors, advertisers, agencies, officers, employees, suppliers, and all associated with the execution of this contest from any and all liability with respect to this contest or the acceptance of prizes including, without limitation, liability for any personal injury, damage, or loss.
UNFORESEEN EVENTS
The Contest Administrators, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to terminate this contest at any time, including if the Contest Administrators become aware of any occurrence which would materially affect the contest’s security or fairness, including but not limited to technical malfunction of the contest website, software and/or hardware transmission failures, and virus contamination. The Contest Administrators are not responsible for an unsatisfactory fulfilment experience by a third-party operator and no further prizes will be awarded in such cases.
