April 18 - June 16 – Art Exhibits: Landscapes and Earth’s Embrace

View the Algonquin Park related works of Uzma Atta and Sherry Dubé in the Algonquin Room at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre from April 18 to June 16, 2025. Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre’s Algonquin Room presents different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. Stop by to view some exciting work, and maybe meet the artist, too! This exhibit is open during the operating dates and hours of the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre.
Landscapes by Uzma (Opening April 18, 2025) – Uzma Atta works in three mediums: oil, acrylic and watercolour. Inspired by the beauty of Algonquin Park, especially the fall season; her most favourite time of the year in Algonquin.
Earth’s Embrace: The Beauty and Power of Nature (Opening April 28, 2025) – Sherry Dubé is a self-taught traditional artist whose work encompasses landscapes, florals, and wildlife. Her art is characterized by its intricate detail and lifelike beauty. With a deep appreciation for nature, she seeks to capture the colours, moods, and atmosphere of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the Ontario landscape, Sherry spends considerable time photographing its diverse scenery, flora, and fauna, which serve as foundation for her paintings. She strives to depict scenes with minimal human impact, showcasing nature’s untouched beauty. Her wish if for those who view her work to gain a renewed sense of appreciation for the world around them, finding peace in its complex beauty. For Sherry, there is a unique satisfaction in knowing that viewers can “get lost” in the fine details of each piece. In her words “The beauty I find in nature around me is what inspires my work, and my desire to preserve this vision is what motivates me to create.”
