Hidden Valley Has Downhill Thrills

By Kate
November 21, 2014

The Explorers’ Edge region of Ontario may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think about downhill skiing or snowboarding, but the highlands area of north Muskoka is a hot spot for powder fans. Just ask Dara Howell, the Olympic gold medal winner in slope-style skiing, who calls this her home hill.

Nestled in the hills just north-east of the picturesque town of Huntsville, Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area (HVHSA) has over a dozen runs to choose from, all groomed to satisfy skiers and boarders of every ability. HVHSA offers group programs, special events, races, lessons, night skiing, child care options on weekends and holidays, and a ladies program that includes a sport specific warm-up and lunch!

Located in the heart of iconic cottage country, HVHSA has partnered with many area accommodations to offer “ski & stay” packages, including Hidden Valley Resort and Deerhurst Resort (neighbours in the highlands).

Think there’s no downhill in Explorers’ Edge?  Think again!  Check out this video of Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area footage and discover why it’s a recognized gem for folks who love to downhill – and families in particular.
