Package 1: Bartlett Lodge

Since 1917, Bartlett Lodge has been an Algonquin Park cottage resort landmark. Centrally located on Algonquin Park’s Cache Lake, about halfway between the East and West Gates on Highway 60, Bartlett Lodge resort is a brief boat ride from the landing. Like all Algonquin Park Lakes, peace and quiet abounds on Cache Lake. The magic begins the moment you step aboard the boat that takes you across the lake to Bartlett Lodge, a resort rich in Algonquin Park history.

As your water taxi boat leaves Cache Lake Landing, you will be entering another world – a world where tranquility and nature blend with comfort and luxury. With only 46 resort guests, Bartlett Lodge can extend to their guests the same level of personal service and attention to detail found at the finest Muskoka resorts. Tom Thomson Discovery Package

Over 100 years ago in July of 1917, Canada’s most famous landscape artist died on Canoe Lake. This is an opportunity to travel by canoe to the sites where Thomson lived, painted and died on Canoe Lake. Our Lodge Naturalist will accompany you as you follow in the footsteps of Tom Thomson, over 100 years after his passing.

This Package includes 2 tickets to the McMichael Canadian Collection to view their work by Tom Thomson OR 2 tickets to the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa to view their collection of Thomson paintings. This 2 night package also includes all meals and accommodation.

The Spirit of Tom Thomson – A Weekend of Art & Algonquin Adventures

Eclipse Art Gallery and Deerhurst Resort invite you to follow in the footsteps of legendary artist Tom Thomson, whose mysterious death in Algonquin Park has intrigued both art – and wilderness lovers. Under the expert guidance of local artist Gerry Lantaigne, guests will re-create a small Tom Thomson painting of their own, and paddle by canoe on Tom’s cherished Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park with a stop at his memorial cairn. The weekend will wrap up on Sunday with a leisurely Group of Seven outdoor mural tour through historic Huntsville, which boasts strong ties to Tom Thomson. Gerry, who is also the outdoor gallery founder, is passionate and knowledgeable about Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven and will entertain you with stories about Tom and his friends throughout the weekend events.
