Wild Adventures Canada offers trips designed for those seeking adventure, while maintaining a relaxed pace for any level of paddler. The clean fresh water lakes, a chance to see wildlife and delicious meals cooked over a fire are quintessential for those searching for the true Canadian experience. Our Adventures give the option for a 3, 4 or 5-day canoe trip. Our guests will learn or refresh their paddling skills throughout the trip from our professional guides. Our guides are there to lead the way and take our guests to secluded areas of the wilderness. Here, there will be opportunity to swim, hike, fish, enjoy tasty meals and take in the scenic views of open lakes and tree lines.

Our guides will contact our guests via email prior to the start of your trip. This is the perfect opportunity to let the guide know of any questions or concerns you may have. No canoe or camping experience is necessary. Guests will be paddling, portaging and camping each day, so any athletic experience will be an asset. Bring your clothing, rain jacket/pants, water bottle and we will take care of the rest!

Family Canoe Adventure (available May – October) 
Our Family Canoe Adventure is an introduction to flat water paddling. This means no white water canoeing, but you should be prepared for light head winds and small waves on bigger lakes. Portage paths in Algonquin are very well maintained which makes travelling from lake to lake a pleasure. Parents should be able to handle physical activity for five hours at a time. There will be opportunity to do day hikes en route. The pace will be geared toward a family-oriented trip. There will be extra time to search for wild edibles, fishing, animal tracking, cliff jumping for the more adventurous, exploring and enjoying Canada’s wilderness with your loved ones.

Full Day and Half Day Guided Adventures (available May – October) 
The trips start at a designated access point with an orientation of the history of the area and a thorough introduction on paddling skills from our professional guides. The group will then depart from the access point where the guide will share his or her secret secluded sanctuaries. This trip will provide the opportunity to observe wildlife and historical sites, while participating in activities such as swimming, cliff jumping (for those adventurous campers) and fishing. This is the perfect way to enjoy a day in the Canadian wilderness.

Primitive Fire Starting Workshop (Dates are Flexible)
Being able to start a fire without matches or a lighter is an extremely useful skill. Using the firebox method, or flint & steel is not difficult, but it will take patience, consistency and the know how to properly start a fire. The 2 hour workshop will give a basic understanding of all the aspects involved with making a fire. This backcountry skill is one of the most useful techniques a camper can learn and will give the confidence for someone to start a fire even in the most difficult conditions.

Make Your Own Canoe Paddle Workshop (Dates are Flexible)
There is nothing like a hand made wooden paddle in your hands. When making your own paddle, not only will you learn new skills, but will achieve great satisfaction knowing you crafted it yourself. The smell of the wood and the feel of the grain on your hands makes it the perfect tool for your next canoe adventure. Our instructors have years of experience and are paddlers themselves. They will lead and instruct you through what will be a valuable experience. Anyone who is interested in canoeing will enjoy this course.
