Join author and illustrator ‘Magic Mike’ at the Muskoka Lakes Public Library for a workshop on Vignettes! Ideal for beginners and/or intermediates interested in creative writing and illustration in the Children’s picture book genre, and or learnings from it’s related elements.

During this project-based workshop, participants will learn some fundamentals for crafting stories and characters in the children’s picture book genre. Learning and practice will happen concurrently, broken up with work sessions throughout so that attendees will have time to experiment before beginning their final project: a single (at minimum), picture book ‘vignette’ consisting of four lines, written in rhyme, and an accompanying illustration in black and white, to replicate the style of the presenter.
